Bob gave me my first job, I was 16. I'll always remember my very first day on the job, I was still in school so I could only work on Saturdays. My first day on the job and I couldnt get in. I was so scared, I thought I would be fired before I started. I didn't know what to do. So I just stood at the front door, what seemed like forever. But it was about 15-20 minutes. While I was facing the door trying to look in the office window, here comes Bob down the sidewalk in his pajamas. He forgot it was my first day. Obviously, he eventually remembered. So he rushed down to let me in. My first lesson of my job responsibilities, listen to my boss in his PJs. Now i laugh. He was a wonderful boss, gave me great guidance. Miss running into him

Bob was my classmate through all of Main St. School, West Junior High, and Sexton High. We lived only a couple of blocks from each other in Lansing. Coincidentally, we both also took piano lessons from the same teacher, Mrs. Grace Morford. I recall her pride as she spoke of Bob's musical talent.

Bob, you will surely be missed. Rest well, and God bless.

Your classmate, Jean Kalmbach Vanderlinde

Dear Meg,

I've just noticed the obituary of your father online. I am so sorry to hear this news. I hope you're surrounded by people you love and that they'll be of comfort to you in the days ahead. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Dear Jean and children: I am so, so sorry to learn of Mr. Warner's death. All those years of working for him prepared me for a life of working by always giving my best. He was a good, good man. My favorite phrase of his was "There is nothing magic about it." Something I often heard when asking a question. It took me years to learn that it was his response when he did not know the answer. And, what a great sense of humor. I would have been there, but we are in Florida until the 16th, so learned about it late. Praying for your comfort and strength. He was a boss and a friend. Dawn.

To the Warner family, Our greatest sympathies on the loss of your beloved husband and father. I remember Mr. Warner fondly and I recall how he teased my dad when I was accepted to the U of M. May God grant you peace at this time of sorrow.

Jean: Bob was a great guy, always good for a laugh. Looked at pictures of one of our reunions and all of us "girls" included him as one of the gang. I know you will miss him. My sympathy to you and your family. Carrol
